A Resident of old Fort Harmony

 

JOHN WILLARD LEE

John Willard Lee was born October 11, 1849, the eighth child of Aggatha Ann Woolsey and John Doyle Lee, at Big Cottonwood, Salt Lake, Utah. He moved to Southern Utah with his parents in 1852. They eventually ended up at Old Fort Harmony.

From 1857-1858 Marion Jackson Shelton taught school for the children of John D. Lee at Fort Harmony.

John was not quite seventeen years old when his mother died and in less than a year thereafter he was called to go on a mission to England with his brother, Joseph Hyrum. Returning from his mission he met and married Lucinda Margaret Clark on August 23, 1870.3 They had fourteen children. John Willard Lee died October 7, 1923 in Nutrioso, Apache, Arizona.
